Kellen Browning

I’m a student journalist and freshman at Pomona College in Claremont, California. I’m the current U.S. news editor for GlobalStudentSquare.org, and the news assignment editor for The Student Life, my campus newspaper. I’m also an intern for Claremont’s local newspaper, the Courier. While attending Davis Senior High School in Davis, California, I was website editor-in-chief for BlueDevilHUB.coma paid staff writer for The Davis Enterprise — California’s “Best Small Newspaper” — and an intern for local video news website iSeeDavis.com. In July 2015, I graduated from the California Scholastic Press Association‘s 64th annual summer journalism workshop, and returned in 2016 as a counselor. Here, you can view some of the best projects I’ve worked on during my four years in journalism. This portfolio served as my application for the 2016 National Journalist of the Year competition, which I won.
