About: I attended a community discussion on recent downtown violence for my internship at iSeeDavis, a local news website. I shot footage and interviewing residents and city officials at the event. Later, I wrote and voiced a script and edited the video package using iMovie. The package was later used in a longer video.

About: I explained a local internship and volunteer initiative through the perspective of a student, giving the story a human element. After shooting b-roll and interviewing subjects, I wrote/voiced the script and edited the video package using iMovie.

About: This video, produced with a partner in the beginning Journalism 1 class at my school, was one of the first I ever made. Telling the story of Albert Eilert’s academic struggle made me realize the value that feature stories and human interest pieces have.

About: With the multimedia editor-in-chief, I organized and filmed debates featuring candidates vying for Student Government positions next year. Despite never attempting anything like this before, we shot about an hour of footage on Monday and had three videos published by Wednesday.

About: This video about the problems caused by the lack of a multi-purpose room at my school accompanied the article about students with disabilities (also under “News Gathering”). We presented the video at a school board meeting upon request, which helped the district come to a decision about approving a new building.

About: My editor-in-chief and I were invited to miss school to attend a press conference at the school district office about O’Brien’s arrest. I filmed the Superintendent’s address to numerous news outlets and asked questions to verify facts. We published the video an hour later, before other publications.
